A book is made of pages which make up a chapter. Chapters constitute a book. You must read from one page to the next to complete a chapter and ultimately the book. The story is not found on one page, there is much more to the book than the page you are stuck on. Make a conscious effort to turn your life page and reap the rewards that have long been prepared for you.
As a famous quote says, “there comes a day when you realise turning the page is the best feeling in the world – because you realise there’s so much more to the book than the page you are stuck on”
It is about time that you turn the page and make the following shifts:
1. Spectator to player:
You have stood too long on the side-lines watching others play. You have been a cheerleader for a long time. Pull up your socks and get into the game, get booed or cheered because this will not happen if you are on the grand stand.
2. Victim to victor:
Playing a victim denies you and everyone else your innate abilities. It is taking you nowhere except ensuring suicide on an instalment plan. You are the most important project to manage, and victory is possible only when you conquer self.
3. Complainer to solution broker:
You have complained about everything, including why the seasons are the way they are. You can’t do anything about it, make peace with that. Whiners never bring solutions to life problems. As Joel Osteen says, “if you cannot be positive, then at least be quiet”.
4. Pride to humility:
You are trapped because you think that you are too good for everything and bigger than anyone. You cannot imagine yourself selling stuff to make a living because your ego will be rubbed the wrong way. You get jealous when other people win but yourself. It is time to grow and allow humility to take the lead. In the words of CS Lewis, “humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less”
5. Indecisiveness to decisiveness:
Time flies and opportunities pass while you are waiting to make up your mind. You still have not done things that you wanted to do over the last three years. Indecision reinforces your spectator role. Make up your mind, you are one decision away from the life of your dreams.
